Fort Collins Police Department, CO

The city of Fort Collins, Colorado is situated in, and is the most populous city of, Larimer County. The city is located 57 miles north of Denver, the state capitol. Fort Collins has approximately 125,000 residents. It is largely a college town due to it being the home of Colorado State University. In 2006, it was named Money magazine’s Best Place to Live.

Fort Collins Police Department places a large emphasis on Community Oriented Policing (COPS). The department organizes itself into three main divisions: Information Services, Investigations Services and Patrol Services. The FCPD has $28 million budget and 161 sworn and 88 civilian employees.
