Known as the Sunrise City, Fort Pierce is a member of the St. Lucie County in Florida. Fort Pierce has approximately 38,000 residents across its 20.7 square miles.

The Fort Pierce Police Department consists of 126 sworn and 46 non-sworn officers. These employees are organized into four main bureaus: Support Operations, Community Response, Investigative Service, and Neighborhood Policing. The Department has $5.6 million budget for its proposed five-year plan to combat crime.
