Fort Worth’s 332 square miles is home to 653,320 residents. This population makes it the fifth-largest city in Texas and the eighteenth-largest city in the nation. It is home to the headquarters of many companies, including RadioShack, Pier One Imports, AmeriCredit, and Galderma Laboratories.

To serve such a large community, the Fort Worth Police Department employs 1,439 sworn officers and 362 non-sworn personnel. These employees are organized into several different departments: Traffic Division, Narcotics Section, Reserve Division, Specialized Units, Graffiti Abatement, Youth Services and Communications. Fort Worth Police Department is truly a full-service agency in that it also includes Air Support Unit, Fugitive Unit, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and Intelligence Unit.
